Wexford County Library Proposal- Concrete Framed with Steel Roof: This building was a Public Library building for an urban infill site in Wexford Town. I designed my building as a 2 storey building built with ICF concrete walls, and a standing seam aluminium Kalzip® roof. The front facade was of fair faced concrete with Aluminium APA® curtain walling facing the streetscape. The old Town wall was to be kept accessible by the public but the area also had to be secure. I used terracotta cladding and Cement fibreboard on the rear facades of the building. Disabled access and fire safety was an integral part of the design of this building. Due to the size and layout of the building 2 fire escape stairs were used. The services room was under the building in a tanked basement. This was a substantial project for my end of year. I designed details in 2d and 3d for the working drawings package for this building.
